Affogato is this super simple but incredibly delicious Italian dessert — basically a beautiful collision of hot and cold, bitter and sweet. 

The classic version is just a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a shot of hot espresso poured right over it. Try at the Cobblestone with any of our hard ice cream flavors from Gilligan's.  "Affogato" literally means "drowned" in Italian — the ice cream gets "drowned" in coffee. As it melts, you get this creamy, coffee-flavored, slightly foamy concoction that's somehow both a dessert and a drink at the same time.
